WEEKLY DUMMY AWARD ...

This bit of news made me laugh so hard I'm thinking seriously of starting a "Weekly Dummy Award" for my blog ...

Carter rips Bush over GITMO and Iraq War ...

Seems that Jimmy Carter is now telling the folks in England that the Bush policies on the detainees in GITMO and the war in Iraq are giving terrorists excuses to attack the free world.

This is TOO funny folks.

Because of ALL the people who should know that these terrorists need no excuse to attack us - JIMMY CARTER should.

Here's a man who can't even learn from his own history.

Let's move back in time here approximately 30 years - back to the dark ages of the Carter presidency.

Carter, once he came into office - made HUMAN RIGHTS one of his administration's TOP priorities. To this end, he put pressure on the Shah of Iran to clean up his act and stop mistreating his political enemies. The penalty for non-compliance, would be reduced cooperation from the United States - and even condemnation if the situation got any worse.

So the Shah did exactly what Carter asked him to do. He lightened up on his enemies - enemies like Ayatollah Khomeini.

What happened next is history! The Shah's enemies overthrew him. Then once the Shah was out of town - his enemies marched right past the Embassy of the Soviet Union (which never pressured the Shah to do anything) - and right over to the U.S. embassy. There, they took over the embassy - and held our people hostage for 444 days. They held our folks for the rest of Carter's presidency - and only released them when REAGAN was inaugurated (two minutes into the Reagan presidency if I recall correctly).

So let's see here PEANUT ...

What did the U.S. do to incite the Shah's enemies to attack us?

Oh, that's right - we told him to go easy on his enemies. We demanded he leave himself open to being overthrown. We gave his enemies an advantage they didn't previously have until Carter came along with his "human rights" demands.

And those enemies we helped? What did they turn right around and do?

They ATTACKED us for it!

Solid proof that these guys need no excuse to attack us. Shucks, they attack us when we HELP them!
